James W.G. Thompson, Ph.D., BCIA-EEG

Dr. James Thompson holds a both a Masters degree and Doctorate degree in Kinesiology (specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Psychophysiology, Pennsylvania State University) and a B.Sc. in Human Kinetics (Athletic Training & Rehabilitation). While practicing in Canada he was a Certified Kinesiologist with the Canadian Kinesiology Association. He has been certified in electroencephalography (EEG) since 2002 and is an Associate Fellow of the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America.

Dr. Thompson specializes in the use of Neurological and Physiological testing and training techniques for assessment and active care in rehabilitating TBI. His doctorate studies focused on the assessment of concussions in athletes using EEG, postural assessments and neuropsychological testing. Dr. Thompson has specialized in biofeedback training for performance enhancement for over a decade and has specialized in the field of sport related concussions for the past 6 years. Dr. Thompson has also worked with many top athletes including the Bermuda National Junior Sailing Team, the Japanese Youth Curling Team, Canadian Junior alpine skiers, Canadian Provincial sailing teams and provided EEG consultation to the scientific coordinator of the UEFA (Union of European Football Associations) 2007 League Champions, AC Milan. Dr. Thompson holds level 4 technical coach certification in sailing and level 3 in alpine skiing.

Dr. Thompson has been an invited speaker at international conferences in the United States, Canada, and Europe and has published articles and book chapters in the areas of concussions in athletes as well as peak performance & biofeedback.
